Meet Dr. Ernest Tchoi

Dr. Ernest Tchoi, DMD, is the founder and lead dentist at Manhattan Dental Design, where he has built a reputation for delivering exceptional cosmetic and general dentistry in the heart of Midtown West Manhattan.

A native of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Dr. Tchoi grew up surrounded by the world of dentistry — coming from a family of dental professionals instilled in him a deep appreciation for the impact that quality oral care has on a person's life and confidence. This early exposure shaped his decision to pursue dentistry and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Dr. Tchoi earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, one of the nation's foremost dental institutions. Prior to that, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, providing him with a rigorous scientific foundation.

After dental school, Dr. Tchoi completed a general dentistry residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City — a highly competitive program that deepened his clinical skills across all areas of dental medicine in a complex urban healthcare environment.

His philosophy centers on treating every patient with compassion, professionalism, and a gentle touch. Dr. Tchoi takes pride in taking the time to thoroughly explain treatment options, answer questions, and ensure his patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout every visit.
